Walking Barefoot
Walking Barefoot is more than a web site or hour-long speaking engagement. It’s a way of life, a decision to slip out of the tight slippers placed upon us by society, bosses, lovers, family members, friends and (most importantly) ourselves. It’s a choice to allow ourselves to be less-than-perfect, to accept that we are all flawed and a little broken and that is what makes us beautifully human.
We live in a world of mixed messages. We’re too old, too young, too thin, too fat, too needy, too independent, too warm, too cold and so on. Whatever we are, there is a message being tossed at us that it is not right, not enough of something else. These messages not only destroy our confidence but can also destroy our lives. They are truly toxic.
Life is a journey and Walking Barefoot is a place I created for all of us to relax and walk together a bit. It’s a place where you are accepted as you are and are welcome, regardless of where you come from, where you have been, what you have done and what you do for a living. It is a place where we can talk about the uncomfortable feelings and the dreams we are often too shy to share and rarely realize are quite common amongst our fellow man and woman.
I created Walking Barefoot in February of 2005 and am deeply appreciative of your coming to this blog and sharing who you are with me. The best part of being an author, writer and casting director, is that I have the unique blessing of getting to speak with and know so many different people and I use that knowledge to write posts that I hope will touch my readers. The lessons I learn from all of you and those I meet certainly touch me.
So, slip out of your slippers and let the soft grass and sand massage and comfort your tired feet.
You are welcome here.
Thank you so very much for your time,
