How they can come into your life with such intention.

How they can promise you the world.

How easily they speak the lies you are so eager to believe.

How they reach out to pull you close and then scratch the thinnest parts of your skin.

How they play games to make you insecure.

How they disrespect your feelings.

How they convince themselves that time will bring it back to center.

How they play upon your weaknesses.

How they can cower away when you start to link one fact after another and realize most of your experience was not authentic and real.

How little they care about your disappointment once they get what they want.

How they will try and convince you that you misunderstood.

How you cry now and they’ll cry later.

How much judgment you get for loving them longer than people think you should.

Thank them.  Who wants to spend forever with a person capable of all of that?
