I love getting letters from readers and always enjoy hearing what you have to say.  This showed up in my inbox this morning and it made me laugh.

I find you to be an interesting mix.  Let’s see, you are a Italian-American fashionista who secretly wishes she was a boy so she can play with swords and fight with honor–cool. You are a very feisty hot head that wishes she was born in another decade or century (which one, by the way?). You have a newly discovered love affair with your country of heritage and Mad Men.  Awesome.

You wear many hats when it comes to interests (which man doesn’t like or appreciate that?). You have a bold and competitive spirit that may make some men shrivel up in your presence. You challenge men and know that we will all be willing to take you up on your challenges. Of course you saw that a mile away, we men are predictable and will rise to any challenge. It’s a set-up.  You know that’s what makes us men.

You secretly adore masculine men or the essence of masculinity in a man as in your constant references to Rhett Butler, Maximus and Don Draper. I think there is more to that, likely has to do the values and principles espoused from your grandfather.
