Inspiration: Personal Power

Sometimes when I am having a tough time, I read quotes by Winston Churchill and Queen Elizabeth I. For some odd reason, they always make me feel stronger. Here are few favorites.

“A man does what he must – in spite of personal consequences, in spite of obstacles and dangers and pressures – and that is the basis of all human morality.” W.C.

“May God forgive you, because I never will.” Elizabeth

“If you’re going through hell, keep going.” W.C.

It is monstrous that the feet should direct the head.” Elizabeth (speaking to Parliament)

“A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.” W.C.

“Anger makes dull men witty, but it keeps them poor.” Elizabeth

“A fanatic is one who can’t change his mind and won’t change the subject.” W.C.

“I know I have the body of a weak and feeble woman, but I have the heart and stomach of a king.” Elizabeth

“A joke is a very serious thing.” W.C.

“I shall have in this house but one mistress and no master.” Elizabeth

“A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on.” W.C.

My Lords, do whatever you wish. As for me, I shall do no otherwise than pleases me.” Elizabeth
