The Academy Awards show is something I look forward to every year and have since before I knew what an “Academy” was. The gowns, speeches and general fun of the show has always been thrilling for me and I tend to watch it alone or with another person who promises to stay as quiet as a mouse while the show is on. Last year, I broke my rule and attended a lovely party thrown by my friend, Michelle, only to frustrate everyone with my “shhh’ing”. They forgave me but I wound up with the nickname “The Oscar Nazi.”
What can I say? I love me a good speech

“watch it alone or with another person who promises to stay as quiet as a mouse while the show is on”. That made me laugh because I’m just like that. I’ve actually muted the TV as I looked at the person chatting away, going: “sorry, do the speeches bother you while you’re talking??”
