Forgiveness Might Be Divine but Sometimes It’s Just Dumb

If there is one thing that really gets my goat (if I had a goat and it could be gotten) it is when you give someone the gift of forgiveness and a brand-new benefit-of-the-doubt only to have them toss it in the gutter by repeating the very boundary violation they apologized for committing in the first place.   Most everyone deserves a second chance but a third, a fourth, a tenth?

When does forgiving their lack of respect become a sign of your own lack of respect for self?
